What is The Amazing Give?

On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, The Amazing Give will raise money for local nonprofits through a single online donation platform, providing a simple way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and encourage them to take action. One of the pillars of the Community Foundation of North Central Florida’s mission is to promote and sustain philanthropy in our community. This 24-hour online fundraising effort hosted by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida with the help of sponsors, will offer our area of nonprofits the chance to raise funds to support their critical missions.


Why is the Community Foundation of North Central Florida hosting this event?

One of the pillars of the Community Foundation of North Central Florida’s mission is to promote and sustain philanthropy in our community. This 24-hour online fundraising effort will give the Community Foundation of North Central Florida the opportunity to help increase the capacity of nonprofits in North Central Florida so that they can maximize their impact and meet their missions.


When will it take place?

During a 24-hour period starting at 6:00 pm on Monday, May 2, 2016.

The Amazing Give is an online event. Leading up to, and on the day-of, you can visit TheAmazingGive.org for updates on nonprofit leaderboard standings, prize awards and other exciting news about this amazing day of giving. Who can participate in The Amazing Give?

Anyone may donate. Donations through The Amazing Give to nonprofit organizations are tax-deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Contributions may be made via credit and debit card only. Donations will be received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity.


Can I donate by cash or check?

In order for your donation to qualify for additional monetary prizes during The Amazing Give 2016 it will need to be made through Razoo’s online platform. You can sponsor a nonprofit off-line in advance of the event with cash, check or stock.


Is my donation tax-deductible?

100% of your online charitable gift is receipted as a charitable contribution to Razoo Foundation and advised for re-granting to your chosen charity. Participating nonprofits will receive all monies that have been donor designated to their organization less a transaction fee of 6.9% plus 30¢ charged by Razoo, and a 4% event management fee to cover all related event expenses incurred by The Community Foundation of North Central Florida. Donors will have the option at checkout to cover their fees so that 100% of their donation will be received by the charity of their choice. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, the donor should retain their email donation receipt as an official record.

Which nonprofit organizations can participate in The Amazing Give?

To be eligible to participate in and receive donations via The Amazing Give, nonprofits must be 501(c)(3) organizations that serve residents of Alachua, Bradford, Clay, Levy, Columbia, Marion, Putnam, Suwannee, Union Counties.

Eligible organizations include those that are designated as a 501(c)(3) as well as those that have a fiscal sponsor with a 501(c)(3) designation. Please email for any questions regarding eligibility.


Who will receive my contact information?

The organization(s) you choose to support will receive your name and contact information, unless you choose to make an anonymous contribution. As host of The Amazing Give, the Community Foundation of North Central Florida will receive contact information for donors who participate in The Amazing Give and do not choose to give anonymously at the time of their donation. This information is used solely to thank the donor for participating, provide the option to opt-in to receiving future notifications from the Community Foundation of North Central Florida and to notify the donor of future The Amazing Give activities.


What are the fees?

Participating nonprofits will receive all monies that have been donor designated to their organization less a transaction fee of 6.9% plus 30¢ charged by Razoo, and a 4% event management fee to cover all related event expenses incurred by The Community Foundation of North Central Florida. How does a nonprofit become part of The Amazing Give?

Complete the online application process and provide the supporting documentation no later than March 18th, 2016.


How do I RSVP for training sessions for The Amazing Give?

All training sessions will be listed on the calendar on The Amazing Give website. Links to register are also on www.cfncf.org/center-calendar-of-events and organizations that have subscribed to our mailing list will receive email communications on registration.


What if I am unable to attend training sessions?

We encourage nonprofits to attend at least one training session – The Amazing Give 101. Additional training on social media and strategy setting will be completely optional, but also highly encouraged. The training webinars will be recorded and available to view on demand on our resources page. Please visit www.cfncf.org/center-calendar-of-events for event details and registration information.


When will I receive the donations made to my organization via The Amazing Give?

Organizations have two disbursement options to choose from. The first option, check disbursement, is the Razoo default. Disbursements through checks are made on the 10th of each month and include all donations received during the previous month (e.g. all donations received in May are disbursed on June 10th).

At any time, organizations have the option to opt into EFT payment by completing a simple form on the Razoo website. EFT disbursements are made bi-monthly on the following schedule:

  • 25th of the month, for donations made from the 1st through the 15th of that month.
  • 10th of the month, for donations made from the 16th of the prior month through the last day of the prior month.

Who do I contact to confirm if I am approved to participate in The Amazing Give?

Organizations that have completed the application process, provided the supporting documentation and have been approved to participate will be sent instructions on how to register for The Amazing Give 2016 which will also detail the process to confirm your registration. What are the fees?

There is a registration fee payable to the Community Foundation of North Central Florida for nonprofits* to participate in The Amazing Give. *The registration fee is $100.00 for those nonprofits who are not members of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence or a Fund Holder at the Community Foundation of North Central Florida. If you are unsure of your status, please contact the Community Foundation. Nonprofits participating in The Amazing Give 2016 will be eligible to win a $100 prize back from the Community Foundation of North Central Florida once they reach 100 unique donations through TheAmazingGive.org. Participating nonprofits will receive all monies that have been donor designated to their organization less a transaction fee of 6.9% plus 30¢ charged by Razoo, and a 4% event management fee to cover all related event expenses incurred by The Community Foundation of North Central Florida. Donors will have the option at checkout to cover their fees so that 100% of their donation will be received by the charity of their choice.


Who is Razoo?

Razoo is crowdfunding for causes. Named for an Australian coin of little value on its own, until combined with many, Razoo powers small acts of giving that together change the world. Razoo supports everything from multimillion-dollar community-led Giving Days to individuals collecting donations on behalf of the nonprofits or personal causes.


Do our donors need to have an account with Razoo to donate?

No, your donors do not need to create an account to make a donation. However, if they plan to give multiple times, creating an account means they only have to enter their credit card information once. Their donor account also collects their tax receipts in one location and enables them to track their donations, review the charities they support and schedule future giving. Their tax receipt is e-mailed to them immediately by Razoo Foundation upon successful processing of their donation. To claim a donation as a deduction on their U.S. taxes, they should retain their email donation receipt as an official record.


Can donors make a donation on The Amazing Give to an organization from their mobile device?

Yes, donors will be able to facilitate quick, easy and secure donations on all web-enabled mobile devices. Simply visit TheAmazingGive.org on any web-enabled mobile device to make a donation or learn about a participating organization.
